The Stadium Renovation of Austintown Fitch High School included the construction of a new sports field and competition track as well as the restoration of the existing gymnasium, which was integrated with spectator stands. The new athletic field utilizes a granulated rubber infused artificial turf with a drainage system that actually reduces storm runoff. The new all-weather track includes new safety features and has expanded event possibilities, including a new broad jump, high jump, and pole-vaulting apparatus. Restoration of the gymnasium integrated stands involved structural rehabilitation of all 180 steel deck supports and application of a waterproofing system after the existing concrete deck was repaired. Both new and restored aluminum bleachers were installed to complete the renovation.
